A safe space for puppies and small dogs
A puppy area – also called a puppy pen – is a smaller fenced area in the dog park where puppies and small dogs can play without being bothered by the big ones. Some dog parks have a separate fenced area for small dogs instead.
It is a good place to start with a new puppy: once it is fully vaccinated, it can meet other dogs in a safe setting and learn that the dog park is a nice place to be. Small breeds, older dogs and timid dogs also benefit from the smaller enclosure.
