Many dog parks offer more than woodland and open spaces: on the agility courses you can train and play with your dog on obstacles such as seesaws, weave poles, jumps and balance beams. Agility gives your dog both physical exercise and mental stimulation – and strengthens your teamwork. The courses are free to use and open around the clock.

Tips for agility in the dog park
- Start gently: Let your dog sniff the obstacles before you ask it to use them.
- Reward along the way: Treats and praise turn the course into a game rather than a chore.
- Take care with puppies: Avoid high jumps until your dog's joints are fully developed – ask your vet.
- Wait your turn: If there are other dogs on the course, wait until there is room – not all dogs like to share.
