About Vejlbomose og Aboretet

Vejlbomose og Aboretet in Silkeborg is a large, unfenced forest area managed by the Danish Nature Agency (Naturstyrelsen) Søhøjlandet. The area covers about 35 hectares, almost entirely forest, with over 5 km of paths to walk on – more than a kilometre of which has a firm surface. The arboretum features trees and shrubs from temperate regions of the northern hemisphere, and a round trip around the bog is approximately 1.5 km.

Remstrup Stream, part of the Gudenå system, runs past, offering a swimming spot for your dog – but be cautious of boat traffic in the summer. Your dog should not swim in the bog itself. You can park at AQUA on Vejlsøvej 12, at the corner where Marienlundsvej meets Frederiksberggade, or at the end of Åhave Allé, where Indelukket is located.
